Nicola Clark

DIP.COUNS | MBACP

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my website. My name is Nicola, and I am a Qualified Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I am an Integrative Person Centred & CBT Therapist which means I can work integratively to meet the needs of each of my clients.

Person Centred Counselling is a type of talking therapy which allows you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. By providing a safe and warm environment, I can help support you to navigate the changes you wish to make.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) focuses on how your thoughts and beliefs can affect how you feel and in turn how you behave. It is based on the idea that it is our interpretation of a situation that can impact how we feel and then behave.

I accept my clients for who they are and will listen and support in a non – judgmental way.

How I Can Help

I have experience in a wide range of issues such as anxiety, worry, work related stress, health issues, relationships and family dynamics. I have additional training and a particular interest in women’s health & the menopause, infertility & IVF, pregnancy & infant loss and bereavement, loss & grief.

I have my own experiences of women’s health issues including endometriosis, adenomyosis, infertility and IVF. Along with this I have had significant losses in my life, all of which led me to seek therapy myself. I therefore understand the importance of choosing the right counsellor and how difficult it can be to make that first step.

My skills and experience have developed with the Volunteer work I also carry out at Mental Health Therapies Wirral and Cruse Bereavement Wirral.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I adhere to their code of ethics.

I am also an individual member of BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association).

Sessions

I offer face to face counselling sessions at Heswall Hills Counselling Centre on the Wirral. Face to face sessions are where we meet in person, normally weekly. The rooms at Heswall Hills Counselling Centre offer a private, warm and safe space. There is ample onsite parking which is free of charge.

Heswall Hills Counselling Centre welcomes people with limited mobility. There are accessible rooms available on the ground level of the building with a ramp and accessible toilet.

I also offer online and telephone counselling sessions, again normally weekly. Counselling sessions taking place online or via the telephone are secure and safe and allow me to offer sessions to clients nationwide. All sessions are 50 minutes long, and I offer an initial free 20-minute informal chat via the telephone.

I work with adults and trainee counsellors and I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics. I am fully insured; I am a member of the Information Commissioners Office, and I am also DBS checked.

Fees

Sessions are charged at £50.
I offer a reduced rate for trainee/ student counsellors of £40 (online only).
